Consultation has concluded. Thank you for your participation.
East Lakeview Road was originally designed as a rural road with ditches and wasn’t meant to have sidewalks. As the community has grown, concerns about pedestrian safety on this road have also grown.
We’d like to invite your thoughts on how we can improve pedestrian safety in your neighbourhood.
Ways to participate:
1. Open House: The City is hosted an Open House on Dec 5 at Camp Chestermere. Thanks to all who came out!

Thanks for your question tdekker. This project is about East Lakeview Road - the road is a rural style street without sidewalks and there have been concerns about pedestrian safety. That's why we're looking into what can be done to make improvements.

Is the road being confused with East Chestermere Drive? East Lakeview is not typically regarded as a major thoroughfare.

Thanks for your feedback Daniel. There are a few options to be considered including sidewalks, pedestrian crossings and speed limit adjustments - that's why we're asking for your feedback. Thanks for leaving your comment!

I do not understand why this is even an issue. We are wasting time and money on hearings and such when common sense should prevail. This is a major thorough fare in a city and should have pedestrian access. It's as simple as that, what else is there to discuss? Put in a sidewalk already!!
